How to enable the incremental backup option after the VM has been created?

All the VMs disks have been created without enabling the incremental backup option on the disk settings. This resulted in incremental backup issues while using VEEAM Backup. All the consecutive backups will be a full backup as incremental is not supported resulting in large storage consumption.
Can I enable the incremental backup options after the VMs have been created as it is greyed out? or are there any other options?
