Project Costing Activities

If I uploaded a project from a template and later saw that the template was missing an activity. I see where you can add the new activity on the existing project, under Define Project Activity. but the activity field search shows up as blank.

I did eventually add the new activity to the template, but, as stated above, after the fact.

Queston, can I physically add a new line after the project is in motion?
