Can we manually update a job posting to 110-Filled/Closed prior to applicant being hired?

We are currently on PS 9.2, PT 8.60.14.

Our talent team would like to update the job posting status to 110-Filled/Closed prior to the applicant being processed thru manage hires and status updated to 090-Hired. The reason for doing this is to have an accurate time to fill count. We have positions that are filled but the applicant does not start until several months later which skews the time to fill number and makes it look like it took longer to fill than it actually did.

What issues will this cause if any?

I did some searching myself and it is possible that having the job positing in a closed status may affect our ability to "Withdrawal from hire" the applicant should they choose to turn down the position. We would need to reopen the position to be able to withdrawal the applicant to remove them from the manage hires bucket.
