Oracle v6.2.2.0 - How to use a qualitative lookup extended attribute in a custom section?

Looking to use a Qualitative Lookup Attribute to use in a Custom Section. We have created the attribute as a Qualitative lookup and selected Brand as the Category. When we preview the section, we are unable to pick from the Brand list using ADMN configurated list. The attribute can be pulled into the Custom Section but not populated. Is there a specific way that this needs to be created.
