Oracle listener on Windows CLIENT
I have setup database listeners for Oracle databases on Windows in the past, for Oracle databases installed on Windows CLIENT Operating Systems (back then Windows 7 and now Windows 10 or 11), but I still am not certain about this part:
On a Windows CLIENT OS (like Windows 10/11 but NOT any Windows server), is it normal I can setup a listener, as a NORMAL ACCOUNT ? For some actions like database upgrade I also need Admin privileges for those same databases … but my question is:
Am I chasing issue because this machine (not a personally owned Windows client) is restricted … or, is it just Oracle's intention that setting up ANY database listener must use Admin privileges to do so ?
