Is there a work around for not updating Promised Ship Date during Consolidation?

When consolidating 2 or more orders with different Promised Ship Dates, the Promised Ship Date is updated with the primary Shipment Number for all orders. Is there a process to avoid updating the Promised Ship Date (PPDJ)? We use PPDJ to measure our On-Time Delivery.
