Automated or Mass Matriculation

I am wondering how other school handle mass matriculation at the beginning of each term.

Our organization uses Mass Change to identify the appropriate applications, and then the Application Program Update and Activate Applicant pages to perform the actual updates (and we group these processes into a job). This has worked very well for us for so long that we were loathe to change it.

But now business needs are pushing us away from Mass Change. We use Pop Select extensively for other functionalities and feel that it would meet our needs very well. My question just relates to the pages/processes that you use to mass matriculate students.
