Upgrading Siebel version from 15.13 to the latest on new servers - DB

Dear Community Users,

We want to update the Siebel version from the current 15.13 to the latest one (passing through version 17, obviously).
The update also includes the transition to new servers (db server and application server), from Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2022, and to a new version of the DB, compatible with the latest version of Siebel.

At a high level here are the steps we are following on our project:

  1. Install new Oracle database on current version
  2. Datapump export/import from old Oracle to new Oracle. We find this process is easier than doing the database upgrade but either option would work. Datapump gives the advantage of a clean fresh start with a new database. Sometimes the database upgrade process brings over old junk you don't need, etc.
