Access Oracle database tables from JDE 9.2.8 on iSeries V7R5

We have installed JDE 9.2.8 on iSeries and using the same system to host all standard JDE tables. However, we have some external tables also defined in JDE but stored in an Oracle database that we used to access through a Windows Enterprise server where the Oracle DB client was installed.

Does anyone know how to access these Oracle tables from the iSeries Enterprise server? Is there an equivalent Oracle DB client for iSeries or other configuration that may work? There is a specific datasource defined for this Oracle database and I can ping & telnet from the iSeries to port 1521.
