What determines Terminated Employees when running Year End Rollovers?

Hello,

just a question on the year end rollovers related to the check box "Roll over Terminated Employees". What is used to indicate that the employee is terminated, a value in the Termination Date or the Pay Status = T or the Pay Status = an alpha code?

There were employees who had a Pay Status=N but also had a Termination Date. The employees did not have accruals rolled to the new year.

Just want to get confirmation so I can let the business know how this works.
