can someone clarify CPU patch instructions

We are preparing to apply the Oct 2024 CPU patch (36944346). According to ML 3037725.1 there are four other post install patches. The patch instructions for 36944346 indicates to use adop phase-apply to apply the patch. It then says "after applying this patch…." and indicates to run autoconfig on the run file system, then create a new appsutil,etc. It does not indicate if this is done after the apply phase completes, or after the patch cycle is completed. It does not say anything about the finalize etc. We have interpreted the instructions to be immediately after the apply.
