Best Practice for making an item temporarily unsaleable

Hi there,

We have both a retail and a wholesale side to our operation, and JDE 9.2 manages all of our master data and our wholesale operations.

There are times we need to make items temporarily unavailable for sale to both sides of our operations, and our current process is very manual so Iooking for a better way.

We currently put any inventory locations on hold. This prevents orders placed in JDE, but does not flow to any downstream systems. Additionally it means we need to manage inventory for any receivals and returns.

We are looking at possibly creating a new item list status for this, which could be used as a trigger for downstream systems. It looks like we could have this status drive these items to not be allowed on sales orders (so we wouldn't have to worry about inventory), but this has a drawback of causing any submitted orders with these items to error and require the item to be stripped off vs. us simply not fulfilling.

Howdy, Stranger!
