PO/PR account generator best practice

Hello everyone,

We have a requirement to customize the following workflows:

PO Requisition Account Generator (POWFRQAG)
PO Account Generator (POWFPOAG)

We need to derived the charge account in a different way, so in order to cuztomize them, I copy all the standard processes related and then I started applying the modifications and finally I set the customized processes in the Account Generator Processes, next an screen shoot of one of those modified workflows:

The changes are working fine, but there are concerns if this is the best practice (or the correct way) to customize these workflow types, therefore if Oracle will still support them and what happen if there is a patch, is the patch only affecting the standard part?, what will happen with the custom processes?
