How to Recover OGG After Source Binaries and Trail Files Are Overwritten? (Integrated Capture)

Environment:

  • Database Versions: Oracle 12.1.0.2 / 12.2.0.8 / 19c
  • Oracle GoldenGate (OGG): 21c Integrated Capture Mode
  • Operating System: Oracle Linux 7.5
  • Critical Condition:
    • Archive logs are retained, but OGG binaries and trail files (dirdat) were lost.

Hi community,

Issue Description:
After accidentally overwriting the source OGG installation directory (including binaries and trail files), we reinstalled OGG. We need to:

  1. Recover the last checkpoint SCN of the previous Integrated Extract process from the database dictionary.
  2. Reconfigure a new Extract process starting precisely from this SCN to avoid data gaps.
