Oracle session monitor upgrade, block storage backup script failing

I am trying to upgrade my EOM to version 6 following the backup and restore guide. Prior to running the backup scripts the guide instructs you to run yum install rsync and yum install parallel which is required for the block storage script to run.

rsync installs but for parallel I get a message no match for argument: parallel

I can't seem to find any decent instructions or information on how to install parallel to be able to execute the backup scripts. Is there another method/procedure to backup and restore the data when doing an EOM upgrade?
