Need by date is getting erased by itself for few PRs

So there is an issue, in oracle ebs 12.2.9.

when we create a Purchase Requisition, need by date is a mandatory field, we need to enter need by date then itself we can submit the PR. once PR is submitted we convert to POs.

the issue is need by date is getting erased by itself for few PRs.

what could be possible reasons, we are trying to replicate the issue but couldn't replicate it in testing instances.
