Does MRP(NOT ASCP) Handle Item substitute?

Hi,

We used Oracle EBS 12.2.12 and will going to upgrade to 12.2.14.

We want to know if we use Oracle MRP (Not ASCP), we created item X and Y are substitute items (defined at the Item Master level).

MRP creates a Purchase Requisition for item X, then the buyer convert it into a PO.The buyer then changes the item in PO from X to Y.

My question is, will the MRP generate another Requisition for item X (since item Y was actually ordered)?
