Is it possible to reserve the quantity for the transaction of issuing a move order?

I need to reserve the quantity based on the move order issue transaction quantity generated in the Oracle R12 system. Once the quantity is reserved, I will proceed with the transactional movement using serial and lot numbers for the reserved quantity. Is this process feasible within the Oracle R12 environment? (Approval is optinal).
