Process to transfer periodic cost to Oracle Project Costing

We are not using project manufacturing. We create miscellaneous transactions that are project enabled. We want to transfer these costs to a project.
The Inventory Org parameters has standard costing setup. Currently standard cost setup for the item gets transferred to the projects. However, we are using Periodic Average costing that is getting sent to GL. We want the periodic average cost to get associated with the projects.

Is there a setup available to achieve this?

We are exploring the following two options:

Use project cost collection extension to update PAC cost to the project interface
