Detached Adjustment - Advanced Pricing

We are on 9.2.

I started a discussion last week re: Tariffs. I have since attempted to use the Detached Adjustment option from Adv Pricing. Our account does not utilize Advanced Pricing in their daily order entry process, nor do items contain a Base Pricing record. All orders have a unit price manually inputted.

In using the Detached Adjustment, The 'detached adjustment' wasn't created in F4074, unless the item number on the sales order line contained a base price record.

Can someone clarify the following found during a google search:

"Yes, you can use a detached adjustment in JDE without needing a base price. A detached adjustment, specifically the "Print on Invoice - Detached" type, adds an amount to the order total but doesn't affect the base price or add a new line to the order. This adjustment is typically used for situations where you need to add a separate charge, like a shipping fee or a discount, without altering the item's original price."
