Can you change job code on position with a Promote or Demote transaction in Manager Self Service?

We are hoping to use the Promote/Demote tiles in MSS to promote employees who are staying in the same position but only changing job code. We would need the transaction to update the job code on position and then write a row with the job code change to job data. Is this possible? From my research it looks like only Reporting Relationship, Location Change, and FT/PT changes are the only transactions that update position. Wondering if there is a way to make a job code change, only, on position, work.
