Restoring Control File from backup set

I am an Oracle Newbie - please help

I am doing some Disaster Recovery practice in a LAB environment and wanted to practice restoring a Control file in the event they become corrupted. Every server, production and non production, has two control files on two separate drives. I understand that if one control file is corrupt I would use the 2nd file to replace the corrupt file, but is that enough.

My Environment
-Windows Server 2019
-Oracle 19C
-FULL backups include the control files

What I am doing
-I shut down the instance/CDB
-Rename the original control files to …_OLD

Howdy, Stranger!
