Prenote Effective Date in file
Hi. We recently changed our prenote waiting days from 10 to 5 days to help eliminate the extra checks and our bank said we could probably do 3 and we would be fine so we decided on 5.
We have run into a problem with the Off Cycle check runs and direct deposits. When you do an Off Cycle direct deposit, it asks for the pay period ending date of the off cycle checks which is normally in the future so we enter that date. It also asks for prenote date which it uses to calculate the waiting days.
When the direct deposit file is produced, it puts in an effective date of the prenotes as the check date of the pay period ending date used in the process. The problem with this is that the check date could be up to 14 days in the future and the bank is not going to check it until that effective date comes so the waiting days could be sooner then that check date but since the bank is not checking it till the effective date you could be sending direct deposits to an invalid account.
