How to hide/mask BOM content from user

Hi,

I have an requirement where after copy BOM in WO, user should not able to see the item configured in BOM. He should able to perform the activity without any issue. Like after copying in screen it should show XXX or some dummy character in item code fields but in backend it should store the original BOM items. Is it possible to mask item code in BOM or is there any other way to achieve this?
