How to select items by segment

Hi All,

I am configuring the item code to be a sequence of 10 digits. When users create a PO, they often do not remember the exact numbers, and the item LOV is too large to choose from. Is there a way to split the items into multiple segments to narrow down the selection range?

Please help me how to do.
