Primavera P6 REST API PUT or POST Receiving an HTTP 500 with No Reason

When invoking Primavera P6 REST API PUT for some transactions, receiving an HTTP 500 with no reason for the exception, except for 'Request failed.' The server logs sometimes provide a clue where an exception was encountered, but the exception is so generic, there is no way of knowing exactly why it failed. Bottomline, it appears there are limitations to the current exception handling. Any help with finding a better way to deal with these generic HTTP 500 responses would be appreciated.
