Is Cost Type compulsory for manufacturing DMAAI

Hi,

For manufacturing DMAAI 3110, 3120 setting cost type (COST) is mandatory or we can keep this field blank. Asking this as earlier this was blank, then work order was not moving to 97 status. I have updated as A1 and then able to move WO to 97. We have not setup any type of cost type in F30026. In then also need to assign cost type in DMAAI. It should have A1 or any type of cost type would work. Is there any document on this ?
