API script to update email_address on hz_contact_points table without contact info

Dear Team\,

Could you please help on below scenario:

We do not need a contact name with email-address; we need email-address on the Address Book level. The field concerned to be updated is email_address in table hz_contact_points

Is it possible to modify/use the API to create/update the email-address on Address Book level?
