How to remove the Gold Image node from the Gold Image

After patching an Oracle Home, we run runInstaller in order to create a Gold Image of that home (GI and DB). However, when applied to a new host, we are noticing the image host is written to the oraInventory of the new host. In order to remove it, we must detach / re-attach the new home. Now that we are moving to the deployment of these Gold Images via OEM, do we need to create a script that will detach / re-attach the home as well?
