ASCP- Calendar Impact

We are planning to define Receiving/Shipping Calenders , how will it impact existing purchase and sales orders? Will this cause any issues for things that are scheduled to be shipped or received on a specific day whereby now we want this day as non-working day? We use ATP for Sales Orders to arrive Schedule ship date.Will it generate any exceptions in ASCP to get a new date or will the system just ignore the change?
