About statistics on PDB$SEED before upgrade

Hi!
I executed autoupgrade in analyze mode on my test server,
Oracle EE version 12.1.0.2, CDB database.
autoupgrade gave me a recommendation to "Gather statistics on fixed objects prior to the upgrade" for PDB$SEED.
PDB$SEED is read only PDB. Does it make any sense to gather statistics on READ ONLY PDB ? Should I open SEED db in read write mode?
I hoped to gather statistics in advance in order to reduce upgrade downtime.
