Best practice to update a burden structure when need to eliminate an expenditure type. Suggestions

My organization needs to eliminate several expenditure types from some of the burden structures. The process I am doing is to create a revised burden structure, eliminate the expenditure types, associate this revised burden structures to the burden schedule, enter the from date and enter the appropriate multiplier. Also end date the previous burden structures. At the same time process API for the projects that have a burden override to update the burden structure with the revised structure.
