Wave Planning - Append Delivery

We're on EBS 12.2.12, and I have been starting to test out creating wave plans and learning about the wave dashboard. We can have some pretty large orders, and we currently use a custom process to allow the warehouse to start picking shipments before we have all of the on-hand inventory required.

I was looking into how this would work if we used wave planning, and I see that any partial lines not fully available get split and backordered. The issue that I am seeing is that when there is enough on-hand, after the initial release, the backordered lines get a new delivery ID when they are re-released.
