How to create bills of Material with slight changes in quantities as new revision number

I have created bills of material for a finished good item and saved, it took revision number as 0, now i have quantity change in one of the bom item, i changed the quantity and saved as revision 1, i noticed that, both 0 and 1 version has same quantity, i choose different date for revision 1. I want to have same bom WITH different quantities.
