Proportional distribution of coupon or gift card value across sales order lines

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding coupon or gift card logic in JD Edwards (specifically within the Sales Order / Advanced Pricing context).

Imagine a scenario similar to Amazon: a customer receives a $20 gift card and places an order with five different items. The goal is to proportionally distribute that $20 discount across all sales order lines, based on each line’s value.

Has anyone implemented something like this using standard JDE functionality (e.g., Advanced Pricing, basket-level adjustments, or order-level discounts)? Or did you need a custom approach?

I’d really appreciate any insights, ideas, or experiences from anyone who’s dealt with a similar requirement.
