Any white paper or documentation available relating to BOM conversion for Model/unit effective item?

We are using Oracle EBS and intend on using Item with Mode/Unit effectivity (versus date effectivity). we will therefore be converting Bill of Materials with Unit effective details for BOM components. I am looking for white paper or documents on conversion/updated to Bill of Material for Model/Unit effective items. If anyone had been involved in such BOM conversion, would appreciate your input/documents on this. Thank you.
