Can you push a cost sheet column update to projects/shells?

We need to add a column to a cost sheet that we have set up in a template and some individual project templates. It doesn't appear that there's an obvious way to push out that change and add the column everywhere (or to a subset of shells). We would need to add it to potentially thousands of projects so doing this manually is pretty much out of the question. Is there any obvious way to do this that I'm missing?
