How to add recommended supplier to inventory item in cart

We are on Oracle EBS 12.1.3 and would like to enter a recommended supplier when adding an inventory item to the card. This appears to be available only to non-catalog requests. Also, we do not use Approved Supplier List as it is a very dynamic purchasing environment.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
