Do you enable firewall on an Oracle server?
I want to know how widespread this practice is in industry. If your company uses Oracle database, does the company policy require that a firewall be turned on on the database server, even if OS is Linux? I'm guessing it's not common but I can't find such statistics or survey. Our shop has it enabled (in enforce mode) on non-prod servers for now, regardless OS, i.e. Linux included. Occasionally we have to have the admins open up certain ports and/or IPs to allow legit traffic.
