Clarification Required on Applying Bug 38189195 Patch for Oracle DB 19.28

Hi All,

We are encountering ORA-16063. As per Oracle Support, this is related to Bug 38189195. To mitigate the issue, we need to apply the corresponding bug patch.

However, the patch currently available on the Oracle Support portal is for database version 19.27, whereas our environment is running Oracle DB 19.28. As per Oracle documentation, the database versions affected by this bug are:

19.29.0, 19.28.0, 19.27.0, 19.26.0, 19.24.0

Could you please advise whether:

  • We can safely apply the 19.27 bug patch on the 19.28 environment, or
  • We need to request Oracle Support to provide a separate patch specifically for DB version 19.28?

Kindly suggest the correct approach.
