Patching ODA X8-2HA with minimal downtime

Hi,

I am trying to understand the steps and flow to execute the ODA patching in x8-2HA with minimal downtime.

Currently, the ODA is on 19.28 and planning to upgrade to 19.29.

And we have 2 dbsystems, 1 running RAC and another EEHA.

My understanding on the steps are as below:

  1. Patch Baremetal Node1 (OS --local,GI --local,Storage Rolling)
  2. Patch DBsystem in Node1 (OS --local, GI --local fails due to node0 error in prepatch)
  3. Switchover DB to Node1 in dbsystem (downtime needed for switchover)
  4. Patch Baremetal Node0 (OS --local,GI --local)
  5. Patch DBsystem in Node0 (OS --local, GI --local)
  6. Patch DB (Downtime needed)
