26.1 Encryption Upgrade Notes

Hi All,

Posting recent lessons learned about the Encryption Upgrade that runs as part of applying 26.1 patch and several earlier versions.

We had always been getting encryption upgrade failed forever but finally figured out what was wrong thanks to a video on 26.1 Alex from Siebel Hub posted.

  • When run as part of the patch it always seems to fail. More on this.
  • Does work when you run after the patch as a standalone .bat file as long as both Siebel GW and Internal AI are both running.

It seemed like just checking the restart services check box would fix everything since the problem is the patch needs to update Zookeeper and if the services are started automatically after the patch is applied then the encryption upgrade should run just fine. Nope it failed. Noticed the GW service somehow was not running although I saw it start.
