How to automatically turn off depreciation for about 35 assets for about 2 years and then turn it on

We have about 35 assets where we want to turn off depreciation for about 2 or more years and then turn it back on later without catchup depreciation. The 2 options I can see is override depreciation and turn off the depreciate flag. Is there any other way to do it either an automated process or manual that is easy rather than going and doing it for each asset individually each month. We are on EBS 12.2.9.
