What Is the Best Way to Create a Pre-Production Environment from Siebel Production (IP 17)?
Hello Experts,
We are currently running Oracle Siebel CRM IP 17 (version 20.12), which was upgraded from IP 13 (8.1.1.12) around five years ago.
At this stage, we need to build a new Pre-Production environment that closely mirrors the Production environment. The primary objective is to allow the business team to thoroughly test their processes—especially end-to-end Order Management flows—in an environment that is as close as possible to Production before deploying any changes.
We would appreciate your guidance on the best-practice approach to achieve this. Specifically:
- Is it recommended to take a copy of the Siebel Production database and perform a fresh installation of the Siebel components (Gateway, Application Interface, and Enterprise Servers)?
