MRP Past due Order Message- supply past it's Req date or demand date alignment?

Hello,

JDE E1 9.2 version. Past due order message for an OP type or a WO type, curious to know is it just because the op requested date or the wo requested date is in the past or is it actually trying to align with eventual so demand and that the order is past due based on that ? because kb article on messages calls it a warning message only with no action needed which isn't totally accurate. Thanks in advance for shedding some light on it.
