Oracle Reports REP-52251/REP-56033 After JVMController – Patching Hits Bug, Rollback Needed, Any Wor

in Oracle Reports (MOSC) Question

Hi Community,

I'm running into a looping issue on Oracle Forms and Reports 12.2.1.19 on Solaris SPARC 11.4 and hoping someone here has encountered something similar.

Environment:

  • OS: Solaris SPARC 11.4
  • Oracle Forms & Reports: 12.2.1.19
  • Architecture: Users → OHS (Node 1) → Forms (Node 1 & 2) → Reports (Node 1 & 2)

Background:
We were experiencing swap memory exhaustion on Solaris, and Oracle recommended implementing JVMController to address it.

Problem:
After implementing JVMController, we started seeing the following errors occurring randomly during report generation:

REP-52251: The output of job ID 12 requested on Thu Apr 02 16:52:36 MYT 2026 cannot be retrieved.
REP-56033: Job 12 does not exist.

What we've tried:
We raised a case with Oracle Support. They advised us to patch to the latest version. After applying the patch, Forms & Reports stopped working correctly and the situation became worse. Oracle then confirmed we had hit a known bug, so we had no choice but to roll back to the previous state.
