WebAdi using previous entries causing duplicate journal entries

When posting journals into Oracle, the journal upload Excel add-in opens a different journal template file and uploads this one instead. This means we are often finding errors within the general ledger and having to post corrections and has an impact on our audit, as our processes and controls are not reliable.

The error is intermittent – it doesn’t always happen

Usually the erroneous file is one which has been used recently

It’s not obvious that a different journal template spreadsheet is opening and being uploaded (it opens behind the sheet in use) so we don’t know the error has occurred until identified through financial analysis and reconciliations at a later date
