Oracle EBS 12.2 MRP Planning Cycle Best Practice (Standard MRP)

Hello,

I am looking for advice on best practices for setting up the MRP Planning Cycle in Oracle EBS 12.2.Background:
Our company is setting up a new production line for a final product assembly with a relatively simple structure (BOM level 1 or 2). We plan to use standard EBS MRP (not ASCP) for monthly material planning, while our proprietary system will handle daily production scheduling. Given the simple BOM, I’ve decided to use Forecasts, MDS, and MRP (skipping MPS).

Proposed Planning Cycle:

  • Forecasts: Updated monthly based on customer data.
  • MDS: Reloaded weekly (to be refined based on sales order frequency).
