Oracle eAM: backup item issue via work order possible?

Subject: Validation Required – Backup Item Issuance and Tracking in Oracle eAM

Hello Oracle Community,

I would like to validate whether the following process is fully possible in standard Oracle E-Business Suite eAM, or whether it requires configuration/customization.

Business Requirement

We need to manage backup / standby items issued temporarily to users while their original asset is under repair.

Example:

A user’s laptop/printer/equipment is faulty. The faulty asset is sent for repair, and another available item is issued temporarily as a backup. Once the original item is repaired, the backup item is returned.

Proposed Oracle eAM Approach

1. Backup Item as Rebuildable Item
