Mandatory CNPJ Registration for Individual Rural Producers - Brazil
Oracle has released patch 39200574:R12.JL.C to comply with Article 59 of Complementary Law No. 214/2025, resulting from the Brazilian Tax Reform. Under this regulation, individual rural producers will be required to register and obtain a CNPJ starting in 2027. It is important to note that this CNPJ will be used exclusively for registration and control purposes and will not change the producer’s legal status, which will continue to be treated as an individual person.
Currently, the state of São Paulo already requires this registration for individual rural producers, and we understand that Oracle EBS already has some existing handling for this specific scenario. However, since this requirement will become mandatory nationwide (across all Brazilian states), it is necessary to understand how the system will support this new requirement on a broader scale.
